explores the space of in-betweenness where two worlds exist side by side, yet neither can be fully inhabited. One side moves through a colorful, ongoing present that is filled with passing moments of crowds and solitude. The other side remains fixed in the past, showing a black and white recording of my childhood house that exists now only as memory. The piece creates a “corner” that is both protective and limiting. It becomes a threshold where time, place, and identity overlap but do not resolve. The viewer is standing between what continues to unfold and what has already slipped away, between presence and absence. Caught between these states, the work reflects the tension of having more than one place to return to, yet no single place to fully belong. This piece invites viewers to stand within the “corner” where one is both held and displaced, present and distant, belonging and not belonging at the same time.

Estella Truong is a Vietnamese artist working in video, installation, and site-specific practices. Her work engages with questions of perception, environment, and lived experience, often drawing from her transnational background. She explores how meaning is shaped through spatial, cultural, and sensory conditions. She is currently pursuing a BA in Studio Art at Mount Holyoke College and a certificate in Arts Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
