In Light of Shadows

explores the journey from concealment to self-acceptance. Created in spontaneous response to intense emotions, this piece uses black paper and white chalk to symbolize hidden thoughts that linger in silence. Laser-cut text casts shadows on the floor, inviting viewers to engage with light to reveal a piece of text from my diary. This work reflects the courage to bring these long-hidden aspects of the self into the open, embracing what was once avoided.

Estella Truong is a Vietnamese artist working in video, installation, and site-specific practices. Her work engages with questions of perception, environment, and lived experience, often drawing from her transnational background. She explores how meaning is shaped through spatial, cultural, and sensory conditions. She is currently pursuing a BA in Studio Art at Mount Holyoke College and a certificate in Arts Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
